earth-caring projects.

The NVGCHS Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) sticks to its vision of developing nurturing, proactive and committed
stalwarts of the environment with its programs and projects for this school year under the leadership of Mr. Voltaire Jacinto, YES-O adviser.

Some programs/projects undertaken were the establishment of a seed bank and nursery, tree planting, outreach programs, clean up drives, adopt/develop a forest campaign, adopt a river, adopt a community, plasticfree environment campaign, watershed
protection and conservation campaign, disaster risk reduction and management drive, energy, water and power supply conservation campaign aside from the waste management program earlier
launched at NVGCHS and its conduct of school-based science camp.

Some 50 YES-O volunteers composed of teachers and students
held a community outreach program with its adopted barangay, Bansing in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, July 27.
The program that included a tree-planting activity also fed 50 elementary pupils aged 6-11 who underwent storytelling
sessions, oral hygiene promotion and clean up drive.

Tree planting and greening activities were supported through
solicitations made to Department of Environment and Natural Resources for 250 seedlings of hard wood such as acacia and narra to meet YES-O mandates of planting, growing and caring
for trees hoping to restore our endangered biodiversity and provide carbon sinks to mitigate global warming effects and
climate change.

With its teaming with Technology and Livelihood Education
(TLE) department and the Student Supreme Government, YES-O sought the caring for a seed bank and nursery of collected seeds and seedlings from native, endemic or indigenous species of trees including fruit trees.
